About
The Oakland Museum of California, at 1000 Oak Street next to Lake Merritt and one block from BART, hosts weddings in a mid-century modernist landmark with native California landscaping, sculpture and views of the lake and downtown Oakland. The OMCA Garden covers 21,300 square feet and holds 900 standing, 700 for a seated meal or 300 for a ceremony and seated meal. Other spaces include the Peace Terrace (50 standing), Town Fare cafe (200 seated), the James Moore Theater (250) and the Lillie Education Center (150 reception). Every couple receives a free Museum membership as a wedding gift, and an OMCA wedding was featured in The New York Times. Rental fees support the Museum's exhibits and programs. Pricing is by inquiry.
