This Privacy Policy describes how BayAreaWeddings.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website at bayareaweddings.com(the “Site”). BayAreaWeddings.com is based in California.

Inquiry submissions: When you submit a wedding inquiry, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and event details (date, venue, guest count, and message).
Vendor claim submissions: When you claim a vendor listing, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and business information.
Vendor signup forms: When registering as a vendor, we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, and website URL.
Guest post submissions: When submitting a guest post, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your submission.
Contact forms: Any other forms on the Site may collect your name and email address.

Information collected automatically

Usage data: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous data about page views, referring pages, browser type, and device type. This data does not identify individual users.
IP addresses: Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs IP addresses as part of standard server operations.
Cookies: We use session cookies for form functionality and analytics cookies to understand Site usage. See Section 6 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Process and display vendor listing claims

3. How We Share Your Information

With vendors

When you submit an inquiry, we may share your contact information with the relevant vendor(s) to facilitate your inquiry. We do not sell your personal information.

With service providers

SupabaseDatabase hosting - stores form submissions
VercelWebsite hosting and analytics - hosts the Site and collects anonymous usage data
ResendEmail delivery - sends transactional and notification emails on our behalf
SanityContent management - stores blog and vendor content

As required by law

We may disclose your information if required by a court order, subpoena, or other legal process.

Business transfers

If we are acquired or merge with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party marketers.

4. Your Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and, to the extent applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the following rights:

You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.

5. Do Not Track

Our Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous usage data regardless of Do Not Track settings. We do not knowingly allow third parties to track users across websites via our Site. You may opt out of analytics cookies using our cookie consent banner.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, some Site features may not function correctly. You can also decline analytics cookies using the cookie consent banner that appears on your first visit.

7. Data Retention

We retain inquiry and contact form submissions for 24 monthsor until you request deletion, whichever comes first. Vendor listing data is retained for the duration of the listing’s active status plus 12 months. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Vercel’s standard data retention policy.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at david@davidnsachs.com.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls on our database, rate limiting on form submissions, and regular security reviews. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to third-party vendor websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will post material changes to this Privacy Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an email notification to users who have provided their email address).
