Sibby’s Cupcakery is a San Mateo-based bakery founded by Sibby Ross Thomsen in 2004. The business creates cupcakes for celebrations, including weddings, and offers signature designs, classic themes, and custom themes. Its site highlights rotating monthly flavors, including S’mores, along with custom-made, colorful cupcakes and decorated tiered presentations. Sibby began baking as a child, developed her recipes during a 10-year advertising career, and later moved into baking and decorating full-time. The cupcakery has been part of the Bay Area community for two decades and is associated with the San Francisco Bakers Dozen, a nonprofit for Bay Area baking professionals and enthusiasts. Its San Mateo location serves celebrations on the Peninsula and in the wider Bay Area. The company celebrated its 20th birthday in February 2024 and has received repeated Bay Area Parent recognition for party food and catering.
